While selling at medieval fairs, we have been requested to make ''Viking'' Boots for reenactors. If you are looking for boots to match your historical costume, for cosplay, or even for the perfect walkabout boots, here they are! They may not be perfectly historically accurate but are surely very light, comfortable, breathable, and repairable.
We make these custom-made or tailor-made ''Viking and Medieval'' boots directly from an outline and measurements of your feet. No matter if you have weird feet, bunion feet, thin feet, extra-large feet… I will make a unique pattern for you, hoping to make shoes that feel just like a second skin.
They are made of 100% high-quality bull-calf leather 1.8/2 mm thick.
These boots wrap around the calf and are closed with laces. This enables you to adjust them depending on the thickness of the trousers, for instance. The main tongue can be placed inside or outside depending on the desired look. You can choose 2 colors to match together and with or without the ''fleur-de-lys'' on the tongue.
They come without soles, just leather, but can be easily soled with soft leather or thin rubber for durability. The extra leather or rubber to make your first pair of soles will be included in your order. You will receive a little tutorial to learn how to glue your soles on. When the first soles wear out, it will be easy to pull them off and glue on a new layer of leather or rubber.
If you pick soft leather soles, you might need to resole them one to three times a year with daily use, depending on the use and the ground where you wear them. For rubber soles, it would last much longer.
They can be resoled as many times as needed over time, and if well taken care of, a pair can last for many years. If you keep them indoors, they could withstand decades!
