Metal-Free Soft Calf Leather 1.8/2 mm Natural Grain

This metal-free leather with a light semi-aniline finish is just as soft and thick as the leather we usually use for moccasin-making. It is characterized by its butter-soft temper, its natural grain, and its nice thickness with a very soft flesh side. This makes it a first-choice material to make your own barefoot-shoes with an authentic look, especially for people who are sensitive to heavy-metals. 

Unlike most vegetable-tanned leather, which is often too stiff to be stitched easily, this leather is tanned with a process that ensures the absence of tanning metals. This leather has a similar softness and durability as the chrome-tanned leather we offer.

It is very pleasant to work with, easy to punch holes into, and yet doesn't tear at all.
Good resistance to water and stains. But it can be a little slippery without soles. It would require being scratched underneath with a metal shoe brush, as the one we offer to make the soles.
