"Runners" Moccasins / Custom-Made Barefoot Shoes

“Runners” barefoot shoes are made of two pieces of leather, one on top and one on the bottom. At first, they don't have any soles. Once your footprint is visible beneath the shoes, you will need to either add them yourself, return them to us, or even consult a local shoemaker. To achieve that, they have to be worn outside for at least two weeks.

Although these barefoot shoes are enclosed, their 100% leather construction ensures exceptional temperature regulation and breathability. 

Although these shoes can be worn indoors and out and are water-resistant (not waterproof), they are not advised for use in cold or damp weather.. In all cases, they will benefit from a regular coat of leather treatment.

I use incredibly durable, soft bull-calf leather that is 2 mm thick. You should be able to walk in them for several months to two years (outdoors) before you need to add the soles. Depending on where and how you wear them. This rubber crepe lasts longer (see my tutorial on how to make a sole and the extra leather needed for the sole).

If you frequently wear your shoes outdoors in rough terrain without a rubber sole, resoles are typically necessary one to three times per year. A pair can be resoled as often as necessary over time, and with proper care, they can last for many years. 

If you only use them inside, they could last for decades.

A scan of the outline of your foot, a few photographs, and a few measurements will be requested from you, as each individual has a unique foot. This will let me get them as close to your feet as possible, making them feel like a second skin.
